Green-tech Appoints new Managing Director

Landscape supplier Green-tech has announced the appointment of a new Managing Director.
Kris Nellist takes over from former owner and Managing Director Rachel Kay on Monday 1st November 2021.
Green-tech was founded in 1994 by Richard and Rachel Kay but was acquired by Agri-services group Origin Enterprises in March of this year.
As part of the acquisition agreement Richard and Rachel will continue to work with Green-tech on a consultancy basis until the end of February 2022. Rachel will work alongside Kris to ensure a smooth transition and handover.
Kris joined Green-tech in May as the Interim Financial Director’ He comments,
“I have a wealth of experience working across multiple markets for organisations of all sizes and ownership structures and was delighted when the opportunity at Green-tech was presented to me. The last five months working as the Finance Director has provided great insight into the running of the business and has given me an opportunity to understand the market, the opportunities and challenges we face. Working alongside Richard and Rachel, who understandably have vast knowledge and expertise, has proved invaluable. I’m now looking forward to working with a brilliant team and building upon their success.”
Commenting on the new appointment Chris Clark, Managing Director or Origin’s Amenity Division under which Green-tech sits, adds, “I am delighted that Kris will be heading up the highly skilled and knowledgeable Green-tech team. It is a well-established, successful, and progressive business and I look forward to working with Kris as he takes over from Richard and Rachel, builds on their solid foundations and leads Green-tech into an exciting next chapter.”
Kris has over twenty years' finance and operational experience working in sectors ranging from retail to logistics and rail. He is a strategic and commercially focused leader with a track record of building effective teams, developing and implementing business plans and managing change.
Rachel Kay adds, “Green-tech has been an incredible journey for Richard and I over the last 27 years. I am extremely proud of what we have achieved and consider ourselves fortunate to have met and worked with so many fantastic people along the way. I am confident that we are leaving Green-tech in a capable and safe pair of hands. I have no doubt that the company and the team will continue to thrive and flourish under Kris’s tutelage.”
Kris will be attending several of the industry exhibitions taking place this month and the BALI Landscape Award Ceremony on 3rd December where he will meet many of Green-tech’s customers, suppliers, and industry friends.
